Famine in the south of Madagascar is at a critical level.  You can help here.

Our partners at Dadamanga (our travel company partner) are regularly asked by clients and colleagues how people can support the famine in the south of Madagascar without giving to very big organisations where donations may not actually reach the intended beneficiaries.  To resolve this situation, FILANA has created our own famine relief program in collaboration with a local doctor and various other trusted, local, small-scale partners.  Read on, below, if you would like to help us with our efforts to provide famine relief in the south of Madagascar.

Who, why, where and what are we doing?

Currently our committee members and our interns are working on a sustainable and economical way for us to support the famine in the south of Madagascar.  The most important thing to us is that money donated actually gets to the people in need and is not spent on fancy hotels, luxury cars or business class airline tickets (you would be surprised the things we have seen)...

As soon as this program is fully developed, we will announce it here.  In the meantime, we are happy to answer questions or receive suggestions.
